Replaceable cartridge in the handle
The lower handle unscrews in one move. Inside are two removable cartridge elements:
- KDF-55 + activated carbon — per the manufacturer's test removes up to 99 % of chlorine and reduces limescale by about 80 %; also traps fine impurities and selected metals
- Vitamin C — a nourishing step in every shower
Cartridge life: 3 months, confirmed by the manufacturer's test (very hard water or heavy use may shorten it). There is no separate replacement indicator.

What COCOS does not do
Honestly: COCOS is not a water softener — per the manufacturer's test it reduces limescale by about 80 %, but it won't replace an ion-exchange softener for the whole flat. It does not increase pressure (the feel of the stream depends on your installation), does not treat skin conditions or hair loss. It's part of daily care, not a medical treatment. The manufacturer's test results (up to 99 % chlorine, about 80 % limescale, 3 months of life) were obtained under test conditions — in your home they depend on water quality.
